We’re participating in AusIMM’s Brisbane Critical Minerals Conference again this year!

ADB became one of Australia’s leading drill and blast service providers by consistently delivering excellence to our clients, including numerous critical minerals projects. As the critical minerals industry evolved, so did we.

Recently, our Women in Mining and Resources Queensland (WIMARQ) Mentoring Program team attended the WIMARQ Summit Event! We’re proud to have two dedicated mentors, Peter and Di, and four enthusiastic mentees, Kayla, Jacinta, Josie and Tarrah, participating in this program.

This week is NAIDOC Week, and ADB is joining the nation in celebrating and recognising the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians. In marking this week, we’d like to celebrate our recent collaboration with our client Stanmore Resources and the Barada Barna Aboriginal Corporation on the Indigenous Trainee Program at South Walker Creek.

In honour of International Women’s Day, we’re exploring what this year’s theme #inspireinclusion means to one of our most inspiring people, Dianne, a Drill & Blast Supervisor in Queensland.

Dianne started her journey with us as a HSEQ Advisor in 2022, before being invited by the Queensland Senior Operations Manager to start training as a Drill Supervisor in 2023. Though it was out of her comfort zone, she took on the challenge and thrived. Currently, she’s undergoing training as a Drill Rig Operator, “I’m pretty excited because it will provide more context and confidence in the course of my day-to-day duties.”

For Dianne, there’s no reason for a workplace to not be inclusive. “Drilling was traditionally a very male dominated domain and it’s great to see more women getting into this and similar fields. And there is no reason why women can’t do this job,” she comments.

The skill of our people is crucial to our success. Action Drill & Blast is committed to the professional development of our employees. In 2023, we celebrated numerous graduates from a range of accredited, nationally recognised training programs, signed on new apprentices, and many existing and new employees took up the opportunity to enrol in a traineeship.
