Darryn Celebrating 10 Years with ADB

ADB Blog Post - Darryn Mora

DARRYN MORA, PROJECT MANAGER

Over 30 years ago, Darryn started his career in the drilling and blasting industry as a Driller in the Goldfields of Western Australia. Having since worked in a variety of roles on many different projects and commodity types, both within Australia and overseas, Darryn has gained the extensive knowledge and experience necessary to manage drill and blast operations successfully.

While Darryn has worked with the Action Drill & Blast team for ten years we thought it would be fun to ask some get-to-know-you questions.

What was your very first job?
Breaking rocks with a sledge hammer to fit through the grizzly of the crusher at the state battery in Meekatharra for my father, not that it was a paying job.
First paying job was drilling for Brandrill, again in Meekatharra at Bluebird gold mine.

Do you have a hidden talent?
Now if I told you that it wouldn’t be hidden.

What is the best advice you’ve ever received?
On my first job, I was told “ask any question no matter how stupid it might sound, as the only stupid question is the one you don’t ask”. I always have since and I still tell people the same thing today.

What has been your favourite experience working with Action Drill & Blast?
Being with them from, just about, the beginning, watching it grow and hopefully helping the company and people also grow.

I also think that we have a good culture that promotes an enjoyable and inviting workplace for people to be.
