Joining Action Drill & Blast as General Manager in 2010, Warren brought with him extensive experience in the management of drill and blast operations.

With a clear vision to build Action Drill & Blast into a leading and respected provider of drill and blast services, Warren has built the business based on solid performance results, delivered by a committed team.

Warren’s previous positions include 17 years in the role of General Manager for a large Australian drill and blast contractor.

Mark Hall

Regional Manager – East

Mark has extensive experience managing coal contracts with blue chip organisations including BMA, Ensham Resources, Anglo America, Macarthur Coal and Rio Tinto.   Mark has managed significant projects including supervision of the drill and blast operations for Hong Kong International Airport which involved controlled blasting in close proximity to one of the world’s busiest ports.

Commencing his career as part of a blast crew in 1991, he has gained valued hands-on and supervisory experience in various management roles before joining Action Drill & Blast in January 2011.

Mark prides himself on successfully and safely delivering productive contract drill and blast services.

Jeff Sleep

Area Manager – East

Jeff has over 22 years industry experience and for the last 10 years he has worked on and managed drilling and blasting operations in the Eastern States for most of the blue chip coal mines.

Jeff also has a strong mechanical background and he has been a leader in many innovative ideas that have been implemented throughout the business.

In his role of Operations Manager, Jeff prides himself on a proactive approach to get the job done safely and efficiently

Paul Guthrie

Area Manager - West

Paul’s experience in drilling and blasting spans over 27 years. He has a depth of knowledge in all facets of the mining industry having managed drill and blast operations in Australia and overseas, ranging in size from small hole, controlled blasting to large hole, production blasts.

Paul is committed to the delivery of projects safely and efficiently, optimising drill and blast practices.

Laurie Pratt

Operations Manager

With over 31 years of industry experience, Laurie brings to the team a depth of practical drill and blast experience in mining, quarrying and construction.

Laurie’s extensive experience includes managing blasting operations at iron ore and gold mines and quarries, as well as sensitive blasting on civil construction sites.

He holds a Western Australian Quarry Managers Certificate and further qualifications and experience to successfully manage any size drill and blast operation. Combined with his commitment to safety and a ‘can do’ approach, Laurie is a valuable asset to any team.

Damien Gorman

Operations Manager

With over 23 years industry experience and as the holder of a Western Australian Quarry Manager’s Certificate, Damien brings to the team his practical experience in managing civil and mining drill and blast operations. Damien is well qualified to lead our mining operations where he demonstrates his Safety and Family first beliefs.

Anthony Ruffin

Explosives Services Manager

Having worked in the drill and blast industry for over 22 years, Anthony has both hands-on field experience and management experience to lead the WA and NT teams. Anthony holds a Restricted Quarry Manager’s Certificate and his extensive experience in controlled blasting, coupled with his focussed approach to safety makes him a considerable asset in the business.

Anthony’s previous roles include Operations Manager Civil Projects for a large drill and blast contractor where he managed all of civil drill and blast operations for clients such as BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto, Fortescue, Woodside, Citic Pacific and the Water Corporation.

David Bereczky

HSE Manager

David has been a health and safety professional since 2002 and has gained considerable experience on mining and specialist drill and blast projects for major clients including BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto, Fortescue Metals and HWE Mining.

David holds Advanced Diploma of Occupational Health and Safety, Diploma of Management and has Lead Auditor (AS4801) and Workplace Training and Assessment qualifications.

Passionate to support the Company’s commitment to ‘Best-For-Project’ solutions, his focus is to deliver HSE initiatives which eliminate harm to our people, mitigate risk to our business and maximise our overall HSE performance.

Zack Carnegie-Smith

Plant Manager

With over 34 years’ experience working for contractors, OEMs and managing his own maintenance business, Zack brings to the team expert knowledge in drill rigs and preventative maintenance for drills and other mining support equipment. He leads a strong maintenance team that ensures our fleet is retained in excellent condition.

Guy Mola

Commercial Manager

Has over 27 years’ of industry experience of which over 14 years is in administration management roles. Guy provides valued contract management services supported by a dedicated team.
